Did you know that in 2012 the United States will phase out the traditional incandescent light bulb? As an interior designer it will cause some new challenges to only have halogen, compact fluorescent and LED light bulbs to shed some “light on the subject”. Yes, they are creating better, more cost effective versions of all of these but they just are not the old favorite. I know that compact fluorescent is so much more ”environmentally” friendly but I have to be totally honest and admit that the ones that I personally have used have not been disposed of properly. My other question is what about the rest of the world? The only countries so far to ban incandescent light bulbs are in Europe, Canada and Latin America.
